Since I am on hiatus from Lineage 2, been trying a few different things. Over the years I had been playing Lineage 1 and Lineage 2, I have always had an active World of Warcraft account. I used the game as “something different to play” to break any monotony I felt spending so much time in one game. It is funny I have never cancelled the account and played it here and there ever since World of Warcraft was in open Beta. The upside to this was I never got bored with Lineage 1/2. The downside was… I never spent enough time to get really awesome gear in WoW because that requires a lot of time and effort. So I have had this open account for 5 years+ now and about 4 weeks ago finally hit level 80 on one of my characters. (Max level) I had to laugh as I was probably the most under geared level 80 character on any server… I had hardly ever done a BG (battleground), I had not done a raid or an instance in…. something like 2 years, and I had never done any arena competitions. So until around 4 weeks ago, I would say I had maybe experienced around 25% of the actual game.
So I have been playing it a bit more lately… and although the game can be fun, it is the other people you play with that make the game (or any game for that matter) what it is… as I have learned with Lineage 1/2. One of the worst things I remembered about WoW was the amount of greed shown by players in the game and the lack of actually helping others out. One of the funniest things I remembered was people being told they couldn’t go on a raid due to lack of good gear. This conversation happens not just in WoW, but in every game…
“We are forming a party to raid “x”… ”
“I want to go!”
“Sorry, you can’t. You are not geared well enough. You need to get a party and go hunt/raid “y” first.”
“Ahhhhh… ok. So if I get the gear, then you will take me?”
“Of course.”
“Will you take me into “y” and help me get the gear? Not now of course, but later?”
“Prob won’t be able to… busy raiding “x” with others… ”
“Sooooooo, if you won’t help me get gear from “y” so I can go on with you guys to “x”, how am I supposed to get geared up?”
“Don’t know. Make a party. You’ll figure it out. We all had to start at the bottom and I didn’t get any help on my way up…”
Of course, these are the same people who then get all upset because of the lack of players with high end gear capable of raiding “x” on a daily basis. Does the above conversation remind you in any way of real life where companies require “experience in the field” before they hire you… but of course they won’t hire you without any experience. But how are you supposed to get the experience you need if no one hires you? Interesting, isn’t it?
Anyway, 6 week old pict. There is a daily quest in WoW that allows you to help “sea otters” experience true love on an everyday basis… funny huh?
