I didn’t realize the new update was out… so my account is active!  So I logged in and started to relearn all the controls again.  (I really, really, really, REALLY hate doing that)

And after 3 hours of tooling around and having fun, I made 6.5% and FINALLY got enough SP to actually learn the one skill I have been wanting forever… but never got.  Party UD!  You cannot realize how happy this makes me… lol.

Small update…

So I have started work on getting a new business built from the ground up.  I imagine this will keep me busy for awhile.

In the meantime, I have been playing a new game called Torchlight.  It is basically like playing Diablo 2.5.  I love it.  The game is single player but Runic Games, the maker of Torchlight, will be making a MMORPG version of the game to be released in a year from now.  Will provide screenshots of the game later (forgot to take any) but you can download the demo of the game from either the Steam network, or directly from the website of the maker of the game.    www.torchlightgame.com

And you have to laugh at seeing things like this.  Can you imagine all the (funny) possibilities and situations that this game could produce?

I love the part where the guy had to say “I love you” to the game in the airplane 100 times…

Just different things…

Since I am on hiatus from Lineage 2, been trying a few different things.  Over the years I had been playing Lineage 1 and Lineage 2, I have always had an active World of Warcraft account.  I used the game as “something different to play” to break any monotony I felt spending so much time in one game.  It is funny I have never cancelled the account and played it here and there ever since World of Warcraft was in open Beta.  The upside to this was I never got bored with Lineage 1/2.  The downside was… I never spent enough time to get really awesome gear in WoW because that requires a lot of time and effort.  So I have had this open account for 5 years+ now and about 4 weeks ago finally hit level 80 on one of my characters.  (Max level)  I had to laugh as I was probably the most under geared level 80 character on any server… I had hardly ever done a BG (battleground), I had not done a raid or an instance in…. something like 2 years, and I had never done any arena competitions.  So until around 4 weeks ago, I would say I had maybe experienced around 25% of the actual game.

So I have been playing it a bit more lately… and although the game can be fun, it is the other people you play with that make the game (or any game for that matter) what it is… as I have learned with Lineage 1/2.  One of the worst things I remembered about WoW was the amount of greed shown by players in the game and the lack of actually helping others out.  One of the funniest things I remembered was people being told they couldn’t go on a raid due to lack of good gear.  This conversation happens not just in WoW, but in every game…

“We are forming a party to raid “x”… ”

“I want to go!”

“Sorry, you can’t.  You are not geared well enough.  You need to get a party and go hunt/raid “y” first.”

“Ahhhhh… ok.  So if I get the gear, then you will take me?”

“Of course.”

“Will you take me into “y” and help me get the gear?  Not now of course, but later?”

“Prob won’t be able to… busy raiding “x” with others… ”

“Sooooooo, if you won’t help me get gear from “y” so I can go on with you guys to “x”, how am I supposed to get geared up?”

“Don’t know.  Make a party.  You’ll figure it out.  We all had to start at the bottom and I didn’t get any help on my way up…”

Of course, these are the same people who then get all upset because of the lack of players with high end gear capable of raiding “x” on a daily basis.  Does the above conversation remind you in any way of real life where companies require “experience in the field” before they hire you… but of course they won’t hire you without any experience.  But how are you supposed to get the experience you need if no one hires you?  Interesting, isn’t it?

Anyway, 6 week old pict.  There is a daily quest in WoW that allows you to help “sea otters” experience true love on an everyday basis… funny huh?

Comeback blog post

Been absent for awhile.  I quit Lineage 2 back in September and have been busy doing other things.  I am sorry for the lack of blog posts.  I am going to try to commit myself to actually making a post every day… but it won’t be much about Lineage 2 as I no longer play.  I do not know if I will go back to playing Lineage 2 anytime soon.  We will see.

Sometimes I will peruse the forums of  various sites, both technical in nature (IT forums), as well as different gaming forums that are out on the net.  Every once in a while, I come across something that just makes me laugh.  I cleaned this image up a bit to be posted… but I thought it was pretty hilarious when I saw it.

Since nobody has posted here in over 2 months I thought I would give you all something to new to view.

I have been spending time playing Lineage 1 again and I am having a blast.  There are several others playing also but the only one I have seen yet is War(who is playing as Frankenberry).  Hopefully, I’ll see some others soon.

Anyways here I am:

Update finally…

Back from vacation and decided to finally start updating the blog again.  Got alot to update but I will keep this short and sweet for now…

Joined a new Alliance with Quidam clan (and now FlyingDutchman clan)… which meant immediate PvP for all of us.  At war with another bot clan as well, BR101.

As you may notice, we changed our tag so that whole ally has same tag.  I miss our blue cross tag but I still use it in Rappelz.  Attended the siege on Sunday and it was, for the most part, boring.  Had a little bit of action but the enemy really didn’t even show up.  Guess they were botting elsewhere.  At least we were +5 and I know I got at least 2 or 3 of those kills.

Shuttgart Castle is very scenic I must say.  Would make for a good traveling brocure picture.  Too bad we can’t rent rooms out and what not for some extra adena.  And what would a post be without some clan sillyness…

On vacation…

Sorry for lack of blog posts.  I am on vacation and writing this post from a cruise ship heading to Crete at the moment.  I will be back in full swing with daily blog updates starting Monday, July 20th.

For those people asking yourself, “What in the heck ever happened to Ragnorak 2?”, you are not alone.  The game has been in Beta since 2007 and the last update to the Beta was second quarter of 2008.  Gravity Corporation, the maker/publisher of the game, had been dealing with some recent legal and financial matters (please see this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gravity_Corp. )  and also recently had a majority share of the company purchased by GungHo Online Entertainment Inc. (see ths story here… http://www.reuters.com/article/marketsNews/idINT32426220080214?rpc=44 ).

Well, I think I found where it went… sort of.  I was browsing around and came across this.  It is from some of the development team that left Ragnorak 2 and joined a company called Sirius Entertainment Co., LTD.  The game is called Lime Odyssey  (Who comes up with these names anyway?  lol )  Here is the link and check this out.  I don’t have time to translate any of it so maybe someone else can.  But it eerily reminds me of what Ragnorak 2 was going to look like.  The other link provided is a press write up over at MMOsite.com.  At least the music isn’t too bad.

Meanwhile elsewhere…

A few of us are taking a small break from the everyday grind of Lineage 2 and trying a new game, Rappelz.

http://rappelz.gpotato.com

It is a fun game.  Like a cross between IGO Ragnorak and World Of Warcraft.  So far I am enjoying it.  The game has so many things that I wish Lineage 2 had.  Unlimited inventories, shared warehouse between all characters, no bots in game, good pet design with actual pets that help you hunt better and have actual buffs and skills they learn as they level, PvP fights that actually are fun and last longer than 5 seconds (I had a fight that lasted 5 minutes), and most importantly…. the game is free.  And in today’s economy, you just can’t beat a good, free game.  You can actually legally “ebay” even… if you like, straight from the maker of the games website…  The game is relaxing and fun compared to Lineage 2.

rapz001

This pict was taken in a dungeon party as we were making our way up some stairs to another room.

The graphics are not as “pretty” as Lineage 2, but they are good for what it is.  And you can’t beat the best feature of the game, the pick up pet.  The pick up pet picks up all loot that drops to the ground.  Makes it SO nice to hunt and just let the pet pick everything up.  In this picture above, Troyler is the pick up pet (its a crab).  You have to be in clan to understand the inside joke behind the naming of it.  =p

If bots were not enough…. we now have event bots.  Joy.  (And people wonder why I am fed up with NCSoft in particular and the game in general.)
